On March 28 and 29, Officers of the Student Tennessee Education Association Chapter (STEA) at Lambuth University traveled to the STEA Spring Conference in Nashville, Tennessee. The group of eight students, including Lambuth STEA president Amanda Frommeyer, Kimberly Bridgman, Matthew Collins, Jim Frommeyer, Nick Hathcock, Lauren Price, Renata Rodgers, and Jason Zuker, were awarded The Spirit Award, which is "presented for quality participation and enthusiasm at the Fall Leadership Conference." The group also won second place in the Scrapbook Division. Renata Rodgers was elected as the Vice-President of West Tennessee STEA for 2008/09. Renata will serve on the STEA Executive Committee for one year and will be attending the STEA planning session this summer to assist in organizing and coordinating the Fall and Spring Conferences. In addition, student Nick Hathcock won a $1,000 scholarship from the organization.
"I am so proud of the officers," said Beth Davidson, Lambuth faculty advisor. "They have worked diligently this year to bring spirit back to the Lambuth chapter of the STEA. It is great that their hard work has been recognized."
